Besides offering regular prayers and reciting Tasbeeh all the day long, Muslims also make special preparations to recite and read Quran during the day and target completing several Qurans during the month.

If you are new to Islam and don’t know how to develop a strong connection with Quran, then the lines below can help you in developing a strong connection with Quran in the month of Ramadan.

Try Learning It:

There is no shaming in learning, especially when it comes to learning about Islam. Therefore, if you don’t know how to read and recite Quran or aren’t familiar with Arabic, then you need to learn Quran first and learning in the month of Ramadan can be the best time of doing so. If you don’t know how to recite Quran, then you can opt for going to a mosque and learn it from an expert, or you can also go for online Quran Tutors to be able to read Quran as well, who can guide you in learning Quran. In the month of Ramadan, you are already in the spirit of getting close to Islam, therefore, it provides you motivation in learning Quran in a better way.

Read With Translation:

The second thing that can help you in developing a strong connection with Quran is reading it with recitation. Quran is in Arabic, although Muslims learn to read Arabic, however a majority of them is unfamiliar with the meanings of the Arabic words. Therefore, in order to make your relationship with Quran stronger, the need is to read it with translation. When a Muslim understands the Quran, the words of it automatically start influencing the heart of the person, thus a greater and stronger bond develops between the reader and the Quran. Ergo, if you wish to develop a strong relation with Quran this Ramadan, then buy a version with translation in your respective language this year. Also, you can opt for online Quran Translation course to understand message of Allah.

Read Tafseer:

The third ploy that can be adopted pertaining to developing a relationship with Quran is reading of Tafseer. A Tafseer is the detailed explanation of the ayah of Quran in the light of hadith and traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Therefore, after reading translation of Quran if there is still any ambiguity, then the best option for a Muslim is to read Quran with Tafseer. This will help in developing a stronger relation between Quran and you as the Tafseer will make it evident on you the real interpretation of verses, thus making it easy for you to apply and utilize them in your daily life. Hence, this Ramadan, go to the market and buy a version of Quran with recommended Tafseer, to help you better understand and apply the interpretation of the verses of Quran in your life.

Keep An Eye On The Reward:

Another factor that can serve as a great motivating factor pertaining to development and nourishing of a strong bond with Quran is the reward that Quran reading and recitation comes with. Pertaining to the recitation of Quran in the normal days carries ten rewards against every single word of Quran. Prophet (PBUH) said in His hadith:

“Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah (good deed) from it (i.e. his recitation), and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is (considereed) a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” (Tirmidhi)

On the other hand, when it comes to recitation of Quran in the month of Ramadan, the reward gets increased as  can be seen from the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) where He said:

“Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)

Therefore, in order to motivate yourself towards Quran recitation and reading during the month of Ramadan, you need to keep yourself motivated by eyeing on the increased reward, that comes with recitation of Quran during the Holy Month.

Don’t Let Weakness Hinder In Recitation:

Most of the people who are not well versed with Arabic, or haven’t received any formal training pertaining to recitation and reading of Quran hesitate in its recitation during Ramadan thinking that as they are not good at it so perhaps they should avoid reading it at a slow pace. Such a perception is wrong and one should never let his or her weakness pertaining to proficiency in reading of Quran hinder in developing a relation with it during Ramadan. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in His hadith:

“Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have twice the reward.” (Al-Bukhari)

This hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) shows that the weakness of one in reading of Quran should never stand in the way of a person trying to read it. Although reading it with proficiency is commendable, however, if one does not do so and still continues on reading it, then the spirit of such a person counts and makes him or her liable for greater reward from Allah compared to the one who recites it with elegance.

Conclusion:

In a nutshell, Ramadan should be utilized as a month in which one nourishes and strengthens the bond of love with Quran. The atmosphere and ambiance of this month provides an ample foundation for a Muslim to start learning Quran, recite it, gain benefits and rewards from Allah Almighty.
