eye opening verses

“They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, “In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit.” And they ask you what they should spend. Say, “The excess [beyond needs].” Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.” [Quran, 2:119]

The Creator of the Universe, in this verse, lays great importance on correct judgment by relating forbiddance of using alcoholic drink and betting for one`s own benefit, which are considered to be the acts of great despair in every well-informed society. These two miserable acts are a doorway to major sins, and contain greater sin than benefiting people. Then, Allah directs the disciples of Islam to spend in the cause of this religion, which will eventually lead to earning of great rewards and bounties from the Almighty in the hereafter. In the end, He mentions about clarity of His Verses that should compel every believer to take on thoughtful reasoning.

ii)                  Remembrance of Allah SWT

The sole purpose of existence of human beings on the surface of earth is to think about the Ultimate Power that is governing all matters in the universe. holy quran verses

“Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.” [Quran, 4: 82]

It shows that the language of the Hallowed Manuscript is free from all kinds of contradictions. The Almighty says that His Book is full of clear signs of reasoning and no one can ever find a single fault in it as it has been written by the Most Merciful Himself. Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr:

“I went to the Messenger PBUH of Allah one day. When we were sitting, two men disputed about an Ayah, and their voices became loud. The Prophet PBUH said, “Verily, the nations before you were destroyed because of their disagreements over the Book.”

The above narration clearly indicates that at the time of the Prophet ﷺ, Muslims got in unnecessary arguments over the instructions of Quran, so Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ advised them not to revise the deeds of past nations who were destroyed because of their denial of obvious signs in their Prophets` books.

And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason.” [Quran, 16: 66-67]

The above mentioned Ayahs describe Allah`s greatest gifts to His the inhabitant of earth in the shape of milk that they get from their cattle to drink, and fruits like dates and grapes. All these blessings of God contain greatly affect the health of a person as milk gives strength and fruits provide nourishment.
